The best thing about the rooms here are the high ceilings. I also noticed that there is very little noise as well as the rooms are spaced out. Nice friendly staff and the ambience is very unique because of its repurposed nature. Overall I think it was a great experience. A melhor coisa sobre os quartos aqui são os tetos altos. I have been travelling from NB to AB with my 2 border collies and finding suitable and comfortable accommodations along the way has been near impossible. Coming into Thunder Bay I tried almost every other hotel that came up out of habit and recognizing brand names(they were all full or not pet friendly). I was hesitant to try out a boutique hotel but I am so glad I did!!! Service was amazing, room was affordable & when I got into the room and toured around I was blown away at how luxurious the room was for the price. The bed is amazing, better than any big hotel brand I’ve stayed at. And the dogs are loving it as well!!! Amazing modern updates to a very charming and historic building. Location was great I walked the dogs down to the waterfront and grabbed a beer at the craft brewery on the walk back. And lots of secure parking. A very unique hotel. The heritage of the building is definitely worth the stay. However, given that it is an older building, floorboards squeak and sound carries. Our room also had a damaged shower door and it took a day for the room to heat two degrees. Housekeeping also took our towels one day and didn't replace them. There are definitely rough edges, but I'd stay there again. Um hotel muito original. A herança do edifício vale definitivamente a estadia. I don't even want to give this place a 1 star.Stayed in this hotel for a wedding so there were many of the guest here.Upon arrival some of us had no soap to wash your hands in the bathroom, some didn't have enough towels and some didn't even have toilet paper.There was a coffee machine in the room but no coffee.When asked why they said because of Covid. (but there was communal coffee and tea in the breakfast that everyone was touching).My son had a room that smelled like a dirty ash tray.One family member had a room where the air conditioning did not work, they complained and were moved to the basement rooms where the air conditioning still did not work.When they complained again the girl behind the desk said she would go home and bring back a fan for them.We were told upon check in that the room would be cleaned every other day.We checked in on Thursday afternoon, on Saturday they asked if we wouldn't mind leaving the room so it could get cleaned.We vacated the room for over 2 hours to return in the afternoon without the room being touched.The stove was broken when we arrived so the first morning consisted of cold breakfast (cereal, toast, bagel, muffin, yogurt) the bananas were black.When the stove was fixed hot breakfast was precooked bacon they just warm up and the eggs are from a box. We were checking out on Sunday but on Saturday the front desk kicked my mom out of her room saying she didn't pay enough for her stay.We booked the rooms for 3 nights online so how they messed that up I'm not sure.We checked out Sunday morning at 5 am for our flight left at 7am.No one was at the front desk (in fact the morning before someone found the front desk guy sleeping and snoring with his head down on the desk). so because my son was leaving a little later we asked him to hand in the keys and pick up the bill for us.When he did that they told him we didn't pay enough for the room, there was still a balance owing.So because we were already on the plane and couldn't get a hold of us someone else had to pay for our room.What doesn't make sense is when we checked in they took our credit card number, even put a hold on the card but yet didn't have the information to charge the stay at the end.What kind of place does that?Also the place is dirty, the breakfast room is full of dead bugs and cob webs.The price we paid to stay here was not worth it at all.I have more things to complain about but I will just say.Don't stay here.It's dirty, unorganized, most of the staff is rude and they can't even charge your stay to the right credit card. Estávamos fazendo o check-out no domingo, mas no sábado a recepção expulsou minha mãe do quarto dela dizendo que ela não pagou o suficiente por sua estadia. Reservamos os quartos por 3 noites on-line, então como eles bagunçaram isso, não tenho certeza. Fizemos check-out no domingo de manhã às 5 da manhã para o nosso voo às 7 da manhã. This was such a great find. Super cool building, beautiful rooms, and they serve breakfast, which is always a bonus with kids. It is also a short walk to the waterfront, where there are some nice restaurants and a really nice splash pad. I will stay here again. Este foi um grande achado. We have stayed here twice now, once for my birthday and once for my partners. Both of the rooms were great and I loved that they brought us breakfast too our rooms. The rooms were a nice combination of old world charm and modern comfort. The beds and bedding were comfortable. I would have given it 5 stars but our shower in one room was awkward to start (you had to get all the way into the shower to turn it on, so you couldn't get the water to temp before getting in). The location is close enough to restaurants and bars downtown that you can easily walk, but it's still quiet enough. Gorgeous views on the lakeside too. Will stay again. Stayed here for 3 nights earlier in the week. So glad I decided to stay here, the location is amazing, the history of the courthouse turned hotel makes the place even better and the room was amazing. The lake view room was definitely worth every penny and would 100% stay again. Some of the best sunrise views I've ever seen. Breakfast options were between hot breakfast and to-go bag, my party ended up getting the to-go bag every morning because we could get them earlier in the morning than the hot breakfast and because we are vegetarian/vegan and the bagel, banana and water was great (plus yogurt and cream cheese). Toaster and microwave on the main level by the check in desk and a tea, coffee, water and orange juice station also on the main level. Fiquei aqui por 3 noites no início da semana. Stayed here for 3 nights earlier in the week. So glad I decided to stay here, the location is amazing, the history of the courthouse turned hotel makes the place even better and the room was amazing. The lake view room was definitely worth every penny and would 100% stay again. Some of the best sunrise views I've ever seen. Breakfast options were between hot breakfast and to-go bag, my party ended up getting the to-go bag every morning because we could get them earlier in the morning than the hot breakfast and because we are vegetarian/vegan and the bagel, banana and water was great (plus yogurt and cream cheese). Toaster and microwave on the main level by the check in desk and a tea, coffee, water and orange juice station also on the main level. Me alojé aquí por 3 noches a principios de semana. We have stayed here twice now, once for my birthday and once for my partners. Both of the rooms were great and I loved that they brought us breakfast too our rooms. The rooms were a nice combination of old world charm and modern comfort. The beds and bedding were comfortable. I would have given it 5 stars but our shower in one room was awkward to start (you had to get all the way into the shower to turn it on, so you couldn't get the water to temp before getting in). The location is close enough to restaurants and bars downtown that you can easily walk, but it's still quiet enough. Gorgeous views on the lakeside too. Will stay again.
